Intro to Ag class took a fun break from learning everything FFA to decorate sugar cookies to represent the different parts of the FFA emblem!
5th grade Agriculture finished their pumpkin unit by dissecting a pumpkin and then painting it. They learned about the pumpkin life cycle, pumpkin history, and pumpkin parts.
The Peoria Illinois Air National Guard team has once again partnered with Congressman Darin LaHood’s office to host a Service Academy Night. High School Students: If you are considering appointment to one our nation’s 5 service academies this is a meeting you will not want to miss. We’ll have representation from all 5 academies on site.
Flanagan-Cornell High School is proud to offer future planning events for all high school students during Flex. These events (presentations, activities, workshops, and more) are designed to help students learn about and explore options for the future. Check out what is happening in October and encourage your student to attend!
The fourth grade students were treated to a special presentation today. Mr. Jeremy Duffy, the Deputy Director of the Illinois Association of School Boards came to share his photos and experiences from his travels around the world. He has been to ALL SEVEN continents and over 80 countries. His latest adventure was exploring and camping in Antarctica (so Mrs. Harms greeted him in her penguin costume. 🐧🤣)! We enjoyed the slideshow of amazing photos and finding the places on the classroom map, using our Social Studies skills. We had ocean punch and world cookies afterwards. A big THANK YOU to Mr. Duffy! 👍
We are having a magical year this year! Once a month, we start the day with a game so the 5 houses have the opportunity to earn points. All students in K-8 belong to a magical house that represents one of our pillars of P.R.I.D.E. (closely based on the Harry Potter Concepts).
Today, we played Magical Chairs. Beau, in the House of Determination, won out of 25 kids who were selected to participate. Kala, from the House of Integrity, earned 5th place. Jonny and Michelle, from the House of Positivity, earned 4th and 3rd place. Then, Victor, from the House of Empathy, got 2nd.
Way to go!!! Falcon PRIDE!
Mrs. Estes, Mrs. Hernandez, and Miss. Sanchez took their class to Humiston Woods today for a nature walk scavenger hunt. The kids were excited to explore nature.

Congratulations to Riley Thorson on being our Grand Prize Winner of the JH Student Council POP Fundraiser. We had a live drawing during our Student Council meeting yesterday and Riley's name was pulled from the hat. He won a brand new PlayStation 5.
